The Ministry of Information will organise the first-ever Cambodian Journalist Inspiration Awards for 1970s to 2010s to promote the media sector in Cambodia.
Fourteen winning journalists have been identified, and the handover ceremony of the awards will take place on Mar. 24 under the presidency of Information Minister H.E. Khieu Kanharith.
Seven-member committee was tasked to identify the outstanding journalists from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, and 2010s, and to broadly promote the initiative.
The initiative was meant to encourage all journalists and media institutions to be committed to a shared vision that will contribute significantly to Cambodia’s social development.
It is also to disseminate the values of ethical journalism and to appreciate the journalists and the media institutions for their hard work on the field.
